Paro → Jele Dzong Camp
- Drive to the trailhead near Paro and begin trekking.
- Gradual uphill climb through forests to Jele La Pass.
- Visit/see Jele Dzong and camp nearby.
- Distance: ~8 km | Time: ~3–4 hrs | Altitude: ~3,400 m
Jele Dzong → Jangchulakha
- Walk along high ridges through rhododendron forests.
- Enjoy views of Mount Jomolhari on clear days.
- Camp near yak herder areas.
- Distance: ~10 km | Time: ~3–4 hrs | Altitude: ~3,700–3,800 m
Jangchulakha → Jimilang Tsho
- Trek across alpine terrain and higher ridges.
- Cross Jangchu La Pass (around 4,180 m).
- Descend to Jimilang Tsho (Sand Ox Lake), famous for its trout and mountain scenery.
- Distance: ~11 km | Time: ~6–7 hrs
Jimilang Tsho → Simkota Tsho
- Continue through dwarf rhododendron forests and several mountain lakes.
- Pass Janetso Lake and reach the campsite near Simkota Tsho.
- Distance: ~11 km | Time: ~4 hrs | Altitude: ~4,000 m
Simkota Tsho → Phajoding → Thimphu
- Cross the final high pass near Phume La.
- Descend through juniper and blue pine forests.
- Visit Phajoding Monastery before reaching the road head and transferring to Thimphu.
- Distance: ~10 km | Time: ~6–7 hrs
