DAY 1
Thimphu – Geynekha (Genekha) – Gur

Altitude: Approx. 3,200–3,350 m
Trek time: About 4–5 hours

Drive from Thimphu to the trailhead near Geynekha/Genekha village. Begin trekking through forests and gradually ascend into alpine terrain. The trail opens into beautiful meadows with views of surrounding valleys. Camp at Gur, a peaceful campsite surrounded by wildflowers and mountain scenery.

Overnight: Camp at Gur

DAY 2
Gur – Labatama

Altitude: Approx. 4,100–4,300 m
Trek time: About 5–6 hours

Continue upward through high-altitude landscapes. The trail crosses ridges and open yak pastures before reaching the Dagala plateau. The first alpine lakes appear along the route, and the campsite at Labatama offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

DAY 3
Exploration of Dagala Lakes

Altitude: Up to approx. 4,300 m

A dedicated exploration day around the Dagala lake region. Trek through the famous lake basin, visiting several alpine lakes such as Relitsho, Hentsho, and other nearby lakes depending on weather and trail conditions. This is the highlight day for photography, mountain views, and enjoying the remote Himalayan environment.

Overnight: Camp at Labatama

DAY 4
Labatama – Panka

Altitude: Approx. 4,000 m
Trek time: About 4–6 hours

Leave the lake plateau and cross high ridges while enjoying wide views of the Dagala range. The route gradually descends through alpine landscapes toward Panka, another scenic campsite surrounded by mountains and open pastureland.

Overnight: Camp at Panka

DAY 5
Panka – Talakha – Chamgang – Thimphu

Altitude: Descends to around 3,000 m and below
Trek time: About 5–7 hours

The final trekking day involves a long descent through forests and mountain landscapes toward Talakha and onward to the road access point near Chamgang. From here, drive back to Thimphu, completing the Dagala Trek.
